The ultimate guide: Converting an enduro to a supermoto – What you really need

From off-road to asphalt: The complete supermoto conversion

Want to transform your enduro into a full-fledged supermoto? This guide shows you step by step which parts you need and what really matters. From suspension and brakes to road legality – we cover everything.

    1. Wheels & Tires – The Heart of the Conversion

    What you need:

    • 17" Supermoto rims (front and rear) instead of the Enduro 21"/18" combination
    • Supermoto tires (120/70-17 front, 160/60-17 rear)
    • Brake disc adapter (if necessary, depending on the rim manufacturer)
    • Spacers and distance rings for correct chain alignment

Pro tip: Make sure you use high-quality rims with the correct offsets. Cheap rims can lead to handling problems.

    2. Brake upgrade – More power for the road

Enduro brakes are designed for off-road use. For supermoto, you need significantly more braking power.

Our recommendation: Tokico Lefthand Brake Bundle

The Tokico Lefthand Brake Bundle from our shop is the perfect solution for stunt riders and anyone who wants maximum control. The set includes:

    • 15mm brake pump for optimal pressure point
    • Steel Flex brake lines (1.9mm) for direct response
    • Tokico brake caliper with adapter

Upgrade option: Our Lefthandbrake PRO with Accossato/OVI Racing components offers even more performance for KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas and Husaberg.

    Optimize the front brake:

    • Larger brake disc (320mm instead of standard 260mm)
    • Radial brake pump for better feedback
    • Steel braided hoses (also available individually from us)

    3. Lighting & Road Approval – Legal on the Road

No road approval without approved lighting. This is where it gets interesting:

    Headlights: Style meets function

We have several options for you:

Loccis Eye Series – The eye-catcher

The Loccis Eye 3.0 and 4.0 Angel Eye LED headlights with RGB technology are not only street legal, but also a real statement piece. Available for KTM, Husqvarna and Beta – with app control for individual color changes.

    X-Beam Series – pure performance

The X-Beam LED headlights are specifically designed for KTM models (also available for 2024+ versions) and offer maximum light output in a compact design. Street legal and ready to ride.

HexBeam Series – RGB with Bluetooth

Hexagonal design meets cutting-edge technology: HexBeam RGB headlights with Bluetooth app control for KTM, Husqvarna, and Beta. Perfect for those who love individuality.

    RaptorEye Series – Husqvarna Specialist

Specifically for Husqvarna models: The RaptorEye LED headlights offer street-legal performance in a clean design.

Turn signals & license plate holder

Universal Supermoto indicators from our shop are E-marked and street legal – compact, bright and stylish.

You'll need a license plate holder for this. Our FastPlate series offers detachable solutions with integrated LED lights for KTM SMCR, KTM EXC and Husqvarna 701.

    Electrical setup

Many enduro motorcycles don't have a battery. Here's how to help:

    • AC/DC Converter – Converts alternating current to direct current for battery-powered components
    • Direct Battery Wiring – an alternative to a converter when retrofitting a battery

    4. Chassis & Geometry – Setup for Asphalt

    Fork:

    • Stiffer springs (approx. 0.48-0.52 N/mm depending on rider weight)
    • Adapted damping (more compression, less rebound than off-road)
    • Fork protectors – Our WP Style Fork Protector Kit protects your USD fork from stone chips and looks great.

    Shock absorber:

    • Stiffer spring (approx. 85-95 N/mm)
    • Lowering (optional, 10-20mm for better road handling)
    • Swingarm protection – Our Supermoto Swing Arm Covers for KTM protect the swingarm and give a clean look.

    5. Small parts & accessories – The details count

    Must-haves:

    • Passenger Footrests – CNC-milled aluminum passenger footrests from our shop for togetherness on the road
    • Motorcycle Emergency Tool Kit – Compact repair kit for on the go (available in our shop!)
    • Seatglow RGB – Optional, but awesome: RGB seat lighting with Bluetooth, synchronized with your headlights.

    Nice-to-have:

    • Shorter gearshift lever for better ergonomics when wearing street boots
    • Wider handlebars (780-800mm) for more control
    • Hand protectors (if you want to keep them)

    6. The checklist: Everything at a glance

    Requirements for road approval:

✅ 17" Supermoto wheels with street tires
✅ Approved headlight (e.g. X-Beam, Loccis Eye, HexBeam, RaptorEye)
✅ E-approved turn signals (Universal Supermoto turn signals)
✅ License plate holder with lighting (FastPlate)
✅ Rear light & brake light (usually already present)
    ✅ Horn
    ✅ Mirrors (2 pieces)

    Performance upgrades:

✅ Brake upgrade (Tokico Bundle or Lefthandbrake PRO)
✅ Suspension setup (springs & damping)
✅ Electrical adaptation (AC/DC converter or battery wiring)
✅ Protective parts (Fork Protector, Swing Arm Covers)

    Style extras:

✅ RGB lighting (HexBeam, Loccis Eye 4.0)
    ✅ Seatglow RGB
    ✅ Passenger Footrests
✅ SMMC Streetwear for the perfect rider look 😉

    7. Budget Planning

    Basic conversion (roadworthy):
Wheels, tires, lights, small parts → approx. €1,500-2,500

    Performance conversion:
Base model + brake upgrade + suspension → approx. €2,500-4,000

    Premium Conversion:
    Everything + RGB tech + high-quality components → €4,000+

    Conclusion: Your enduro, your supermoto

Converting from enduro to supermoto isn't rocket science, but you should proceed systematically. Start with wheels and lights that meet road legal requirements, then optimize the brakes and suspension for performance.

In our shop you will find all the important lighting and brake components – from road-legal LED headlights to stunt brake systems and style upgrades such as RGB lighting.
